BIRTH PHOTOGRAPHY PACKAGE
PAYMENT PLANS: In an effort to make birth photography as attainable as possible, I offer payment arrangements. The standard payment plan requires a $300 non-refundable deposit at booking, with the remaining balance split into monthly payments up to 37 weeks gestation. The exact amount of your monthly payment will depend on how early you book your birth package.
If you have any questions, concerns or are ready to move forward, contact me to check availability. Once you know I’m available for your due date, I’d be thrilled to begin the booking process for you. If you’d prefer, we can also schedule a phone call or in-person meeting.
Once you're ready to make it official, I will email you your online booking forms. Carefully review your agreement, and if you don't have any questions, you can sign it electronically. After submitting, you can proceed to paying the non-refundable deposit to secure your due date on my calendar.
After you're booked, I will be in touch to work out the details of your payment plan, if applicable. We will set up your mini maternity session and once your third trimester rolls around, we will set up a time to chat to discuss your birth plan and any questions you might have before the big day!
*Please note that I only take a very limited amount of birth clients per month. I want to be there for your birth, and taking a small number of exclusive clients allows me to give you my time and support.*
HOME, BIRTH CENTER OR HOSPITAL DELIVERIES
As early as possible! In order to give each of my clients the time, attention and support they deserve, I only accept a very limited number of birth clients a month. I encourage you to contact me as soon as you know you are expecting and know you want a birth photographer.
Of course! We will meet each other during you mini maternity session. But please know that we can always grab lunch or a cup of coffee and chat. Birth is a very intimate, personal experience and I want you to feel comfortable with my presence. We can also communicate via text, e-mail, phone or video chat - I’m flexible based on whatever you are most comfortable with.
Ideally, I will arrive a few hours before your baby is born. Based on a variety of factors and your updates, I will gauge when the right time is for me to join you. Usually it’s best to go by how close together your contractions are and how difficult they are for you to manage. Other factors include - dilation, effacement, and station (if known), along with if your membranes have ruptured or are still intact.
Cesareans are just as important to document! You should discuss this with your care provider during your prenatal visit so you know what to expect. Even if your doctor has a policy against allowing birth photographers in the OR, I can join during at check-in, document your pre-op and then give your support person my camera during the birth. Then I’ll be there to document post delivery moments as usual.
Birth and babies are so unpredictable! Missed births can happen but it is very rare. I do work with a back up photographer I can send in my place in case of illness or emergencies. If I were to miss the birth because everything happened super fast (precipitous birth), I will still come to your place of birth and document as much of your story as I can – in this case – a fast and unpredictable birth is client’s story.
If there are too many missed moment to build a full gallery, I am happy to add a Fresh 48, Lifestyle Newborn or Family Session.
I try to get your full birth gallery finished as soon as possible, usually within 72 hours of leaving your birth space. Please note that if I am currently in a busy season with work, it could take up to a week for your gallery to be finished. Your images will be delivered via an online digital gallery where you will be able to download high-resolution images meant for printing, along with web-sized images which are perfect for sharing on social media platforms.
I only share birth images with permission from my clients. As you probably know, social media is my largest tool for sharing my work. I would love the opportunity to share a few birth images on my website/portfolio and with my followers. But, ultimately, the decision is completely up to you.
Both! Some images look better in black and white - depending on lighting, mood and circumstance.
