WARDROBE ADDS SUCH A VALUABLE COMPONENT TO THE WAY YOU WILL VIEW YOUR IMAGES.

I can’t stress this enough. A lot of people don’t realize how much this can affect the overall feel and edit of your photos. The colors will breathe life into the image, whether it be warm and colorful, or calm and peaceful. The textures, layers, patterns, accessories — it is such an important element and I want to help you pull all these pieces together!

BRAND COLORS: WARM | NEUTRAL | EARTHY | BEACHY | BOHO

As my client, please remember that you have access to my client closet full of dresses, maxi skirts and tops that fit maternity/non-maternity and are FREE for you to use! I HIGHLY recommend taking advantage of it as every piece has been hand selected to photograph beautifully. It also helps take the stress out of finding a dress and avoids having to spend additional money on items you might not wear again!

*If you find something you would love to wear for your session outside of my client closet, but maybe it is out of budget and/or not something that you want to keep, feel free to ask me if it's something I would want for my client closet. This mainly applies to items for moms. If it’s something I end up wanting to keep for my client closet, a deep discount would be applied to your session.*

If you feel like getting glammed up, there’s absolutely no reason not to get your hair and makeup done. Just try to keep it as natural as possible. Fancy and intricate hairdos can sometimes look a little out of place if we’re tromping around a field. Plus, I love the motion that is captured with hair blowing in the wind.

For women/girls hair, I usually suggest wearing it down, half pinned, or adding braids. If you search “boho braids/hairstyles” on Pinterest, you’ll find lots of great ideas for adding character to your hairdo.

When it comes to nails, I always recommend a natural color, don't let a hot pink, bright blue, or green nail be the focus of your maternity/family photos!

Be careful with prints, logos, and bright colors as these can also distract from the most important parts of the photograph – you!

Avoid matching and blending together into one monochromatic blob. In order for the components of your photograph to really sing, you’ll want to find complementary outfits that showcase a controlled variety of textures and colors so you can look good together without looking the sam

1. MAMA ALWAYS COMES FIRST

These photos are for you after all, right?!

Ask yourself this... Do you feel beautiful in it? If you bend over are you at risk of something popping out that you don’t want to show? Can you squat down confidently?

Once mama selects her dress, begin styling everyone else!

2. DADS

You have to feel good also! If you feel insecure about your chest or stomach area, choose pieces that are a bit thicker, like a waffle knit, sweater, etc.

Please keep in mind that some button up shirts may wrinkle more than others due to the fabric. I do not edit out wrinkles in clothes. If this is something that will bother you in the photos, please choose wisely when deciding your shirt style.

3. LITTLE ONES

I know it is tempting to dress your babies in adorable outfits like pant suits and jackets, or vest with fedoras, but for these photos, I highly suggest against it. Remember that these images will hopefully be art hanging on your walls! You’ll want to remember your babies just as they are in this stage! Keep them dress in well-fitting, age appropriate clothing. Rompers are always a great options for the little ones. Use bloomers under dresses for babies/toddler to prevent diapers from showing. Avoid large bows as they can cause shadows on faces. Barefoot is always great, so we can also document those precious little toes!

4. ACCESSORIES

Have fun with it! It can be fun to add a hat, jewelry, headbands, bonnets, and high ruffle socks! It’s a great way to add details and pop!
